Privacy Policy

StemClear is a mobile app that separates audio into stems (such as vocals and instrumentals) entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. In this policy, “StemClear,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer of the StemClear app, who is the party responsible for it.

Information We Collect

None. StemClear does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. We do not operate accounts, and we have no servers that receive your data. The audio files you choose are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To run efficiently, the app saves a small amount of information only on your device. This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

• Device characteristics — such as available memory (RAM) and Android API level, used to choose an appropriate on-device processing model for your hardware.
• Your preferences — such as your selected quality tier (FAST, BALANCED, or QUALITY).

This data is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.

How Your Audio Is Handled

When you select an audio file, StemClear reads and processes it locally using on-device machine learning. The separated stems it produces are saved to your device’s storage (for example, your Music/StemClear/ folder). At no point is your audio sent to us or to any third party.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No crash reporting or telemetry
• No user accounts or sign-in
• No advertising identifiers and no advertising
• No location data
• No uploading of your audio, files, or activity

Permissions

StemClear requests only the permissions needed to function. We use them solely for the purposes below — never to collect data about you.

READ_MEDIA_AUDIO	To let you pick the audio files you want to separate.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (older Android only)	To save the separated stems to your device on Android versions before 10.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE	To keep processing reliably while a separation job runs.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	To show progress and completion notifications for processing jobs.
INTERNET	Declared by the app but not used to transmit your data in this version. Your audio and personal information stay on your device.

Payments

StemClear currently offers no paid features and no in-app purchases.

Children’s Privacy

StemClear is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect personal information at all.

Changes to This Policy

If the app changes in a way that affects how data is handled, we will update this policy and revise the effective date shown above. The current version will always be available at this page.
